Hi. We are Chris and Sally Buck. We have a small Plumbing and Heating business called Boiler Serve that supports our work as Team Leaders of Canal Ministries. Chris is a gas engineer/trainer and assessor and Sally carries out administration work for our business and CM. We have 2 children: Sam, who is married to Rebecca, and Jacob. We have 3 Grand children. Our boat is called Kairos. The name is Greek for the right moment in time or God’s timing, it was definitely the right moment in time for us to move from land onto the water and live a disrupted life. Kairos is a 62′ semi trad narrow boat. It had previously been owned by another member of Canal Ministries and was built for them from new in 2006.
We have been on our boat very much on and off since we bought it in 2014. When we are on our boat we really are blessed by the wide variety of people we meet along the waterways. We have travelled from Ellesmere, Shropshire, which holds a special place in our hearts, to Bath, Somerset. We have also covered the entire length of the Grand Union canal but still have large parts of the over 2000miles of canal/river network to travel yet.
