10,000 blessings in Burnley

Paul, Sue and 10,000 Reasons are now in Reedley Marina 🎉.  Following the decision to get through Barrowford locks before they were closed an anonymous donor promised to pay for our mooring which was a big encouragement.   We are getting to know people in the Marina and have attended the monthly “Prayer for Burnley” which is held in a Church close to the Marina.

Last Thursday I heard our song, “Ten Thousand Reasons”, being played on the towpath across from our mooring.  I went to investigate and met a man in real need. I listened to his story, shared why the song he was playing meant so much to our family and prayed with him.  He is a gentlemen who needs God to do the impossible for him. Please pray for him.

Later the same day we visited and joined the Burnley Community Grocery. Coming out we met the Pastor of Life Church and the leader of Burnley Council who may have young people who would like to come out on Ten Thousand Reasons.  We meet people in such a variety of life circumstances.

Today took part in an intercultural service at St Luke’s five minutes from the Marina.  An amazing message about how God brings us into impossible situations which only he can overcome. You may be able to guess some of the many biblical examples the speaker used. Sue shared the testimony about our grandson and how our boat got its name.  It was amazing to share in multilingual worship and eat together afterwards.  We even gained a new prayer partner.

This Tuesday (3rd June) we go to the Churches Together meeting to discuss arrangements for the mission in August.
